Solido Design Closes 2007 on a High Note Supporting Fourteen Production Designs

Seminar series launched in response to substantial customer demand for flagship product SolidoSTAT

SANTA CLARA, CA – January 16, 2008 – Solido Design Automation, innovator of process variation solutions for transistor-level designers, has attained significant momentum since announcing its tool suite, SolidoSTAT. Overwhelming response from customers, including two of the world’s top semiconductor manufacturers, has resulted in SolidoSTAT supporting fourteen production designs since the tool suite for transistor-level statistical variation design was made available in September 2007.

SolidoSTAT represents a new class of electronic design automation software that enables chip designers to gain insight into the effects of process variations on their design and also to make the design more robust to these effects without over-designing. SolidoSTAT customers are able to analyze failures in their designs caused by statistical variation more quickly than by using Monte Carlo analysis; to identify weaknesses in the design; and to fix the design, making it robust to statistical variation.

"Process variation causes product failures for our customers. The rapid acceptance of our product by top semiconductor manufacturers validates the need for solutions that address process variation in 130nm process nodes and below,” said Amit Gupta, president and CEO of Solido Design Automation.

Due to customer interest, Solido Design is offering a series of seminars in conjunction with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in North America. The seminars, titled “Variation Robustness for Analog/Mixed-Signal, Custom Digital and Memory Design,” are presented by Patrick Drennan, chief technical officer for Solido Design Automation. Date and locations are as follows:

Solido Design also will be exhibiting at the Electronic Design and Solution Fair 2008 in Yokohama, Japan, January 24 – 25. For more information, or to sign up for a seminar, please visit: www.solidodesign.com/events.shtml
